Hope Over Fear
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.”
Romans 8:18 CSB
Pain, suffering, and death are all unavoidable moments of life that many are scared to face. With every reason to be, these are fear-filled moments in life.
However, we serve a God who is in the business of replacing fear with hope.
For those of you who have been actively praying for my wife and I, we thank you dearly. For those who do not know our current situation, her mother, my mother-in-law, has been battling stage 4 cancer.
We are approaching the end of the fight.
God is faithful, and we have trusted that truth the entire way. Through the highs, the lows, the hard, the easy, and the confusion. We know somehow, some way, even when we do not understand, that all things work out for good for those who love God, and are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28).
The point I am trying to make is, hope is always at the core of fear-filled circumstances for those who submit their lives to Christ.
Fear does a tremendous job of clouding our vision of hope by creating a shield of smoke that causes us to lose sight of hope. Because, after all, that is its job.
When we submit our lives to Christ, we are acknowledging that there is extreme amounts of evil, darkness, and fear in this world.
But, we have a Savior who is greater than any fear, any pain, and any suffering this world can throw our way.
We know that my mother-in-law is going to be held in the palm of the hand of God the entire way, as we all are throughout our lives.
We pray to remain in that truth each day, with all hope and confidence.
Lord, we thank you so much for this amazing gift of life. We pray for hearts full of peace, comfort, and hope in the midst of trials and suffering. We ask that your Holy Spirit be active in us today. Let your Holy Spirit convict us in our hearts to the extreme of internal troubling Lord, so that we have nowhere else to turn, but to You. Take us by the hand, lead us, and comfort us in your amazing Love.
